A fourteen-year-old girl and her feminist grandmother fight to save historic oak trees lining Main Street in a small Southern town. When the McCord Town Council proposes cutting the trees to expand Main Street, Laney Gordon decides to teach her granddaughter Maggie a lesson in civic responsibility.
